今日早上7:25收到彥博經大會的賽況通知:「我做到了!!安全完成雙日賽第一名進站!」
「起跑一開始我排序在第五、六名,我和德國選手Ben跑在一起互相關照。前面50公里前方集團選手跑得非常快,我努力追趕,身體達到極限,忍不住嘔吐,胃裡的補給食物和水都吐光了,覺得意志動搖⋯⋯
持續跑到60公里,我告訴自己一定要撐住阿!開始牙關咬緊奮力向前追擊,趕上北愛爾蘭選手Neill, 在最後的7-8公里處展開拉鋸戰,直到最後,超前他20分鐘進入終點。」
「非常非常地累,我的雙腳都是血和水泡,終於贏得勝利,只剩最後一天了。Neill仍然虎視眈眈,我會全力完成比賽,用盡洪荒之力去跑完最後的10公里,加油!堅持到底,不輕敵、不放棄!」
雙日D5~D6賽程(Long Day),總路程73.4公里:從非常崎嶇的鹽質礫石地表開始,幾乎難以奔跑的路段維持了15公里,接著進入路徑爬升,1公里內上升100公尺越過大丘陵,進入如月球表面的高原,再下切進入月亮谷(Moon valley),混合了泥土、脆碎石、鹽沙粒和岩地等多樣地表的地形。最終段的15公里,選手必須轉進碎石路徑和爬升13公里緩上的山丘,越過頂點後才下降接到終點Camp6.
D5起跑時,已經有14位選手無法於時間內抵達終點而棄賽(佔比11%)
智利時間10/7早上10點鐘,Long Day連日賽終點關門,所有選手安全抵達Camp6.
明日D7最後一天賽程10公里,所有選手將跑回San Pedro廣場,結束7日250公里的智利阿他加馬高原沙漠超馬賽。
Today they will start on 15km / 10 miles of difficult ploughed field salt flats, before opening up to 15kms of runnable hard packed terrain. They then go back off track and climb 100m over 1 km up a large dune to a stunning plateau (like the moon) and down the other side. They are then in Moon valley a mixture of dirt, crusty surface, sandy spots and hard packed terrain. For the last 15kms they turn onto a gravel track and go up over a hill (168m height in total over about 13kms) and down the otherside into Camp.
There have been a total 14 withdrawals (11%) for the race so far.
As of 10:00 (Chile time) on Fri, 7 October all competitors had reached Camp. Today is a day to relax in their Camp, Kari Gorge, which is on the edge of Moon Valley.
Tomorrow the final Stage will start early and they run the final 10kms into San Pedro, finishing in San Pedro Square.

Is that Winnie the Pooh's honey jar? Nope! It's a big piece of bread baked with a hollow center and filled with pudding. On top of the pudding bread, we added caramel-flavored pound cake batter. Add an ample amount of fresh cream... and we're done! A giant pudding bread that looks like a cupcake! We had to try this one five times... but we finally got it right!
*Recipe*
1. Add yellow food coloring to approximately 210g of milk that has been heated to around 30°C.
2. Mix together 270g strong flour (bread flour), 30g weak flour (cake flour), 20g sugar, 4g salt (1 teaspoon), 3g dry yeast, and the milk from Step 1. Knead until mixture forms into a single clump. You can knead it with your hands.
3. Add 30g unsalted butter that has been allowed to warm to room temperature and knead the mixture well until it becomes smooth.
4. Form the mixture into a ball, place it into a bowl lightly coated with vegetable oil, and cover it with plastic wrap.
5. Place in a warm area (40°C) and allow yeast to work on fermentation for 40 minutes (Primary Fermentation).
6. When the dough has risen to about two times its original size, pour it out onto a flat surface and allow gas to escape.
7. Separate dough into two portions. One 200g and the other 350g.
8. Stretch the smooth dough so that the openings are on the inside and firmly pinch it shut.
9. Cover dough with a wet cloth and allow to rest for 12 minutes. (Bench Time)
10. Stretch out the dough and put 18g of marshmallows in one of the dough balls and 31g of marshmallows in the other. Firmly pinch shut.
11. Add the dough from Step 10 into a mold lightly greased with vegetable oil. Place the dough so that the cupcake lid piece has its seam on top and the base piece has its seam on the bottom.
12. Place in a warm area (40°C) and allow to ferment again for approximately 30 minutes (Secondary Fermentation).
13. Place an oven sheet and some form of flat weight on top to ensure the dough cooks level.
14. Pre-heat the oven to 190°C, turn it down to 160°C and cook for 10 minutes. Turn it down again to 150°C and cook for another 10 minutes. Bake slowly so as to not darkly color the dough due to heat.
15. When done baking, place the dough on top of a wire mesh to allow it to cool.
Now let's make the pound cake batter to go on top. You will only need 1/4 of the dough this recipe makes. You can use the rest to make something like Sweet Boule (Yamazaki Pan) by placing it on top of regular bread and baking for 7 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C.
16. Add 76g of caramel sauce to 40g of butter that has been allowed to warm to room temperature and mix together. Caramel sauce can be homemade. For homemade caramel sauce, use 70g.
17. Add 30g of beaten egg and mix together.
18. Sift in 60g of strong flour (bread flour) and mix together.
19. Insert mixture into a piping bag.
20. Pipe the mixture from Step 19 onto the top of the cupcake.
21. Bake for 4 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C.
22. Remove from oven and once again add mixture from Step 19 as you did before.
23. Bake for 2 more minutes and watch to see how the pound cake batter is drooping. Remove from oven and add more batter.
24. Bake for 6 more minutes to finish. Allow the finished product to cool.
25. Fill the lower portion of the cupcake mold bread with pudding. We were able to add 210g of pudding.
26. Add fresh cream to the piece from Step 24. We were able to add 215g of fresh cream.
27. Place the lid from Step 26 onto the base from Step 25.
28. Finished! We bought this mold a long time ago and now I've finally made a video using it. It was quite the long road. We failed so many times and none of those failures made a good video. It's pretty much all made from willpower.

Before we go on, we would like to give special thanks to Shogun by La Gourmet for letting us try their super good and durable non-stick pan. The pan we're using in this video has a non-stick granite coating. We've been using this for slightly over a year now and it's still in brand new condition. Love it! Just a note to caring for your non-stick pan, please do not use olive oil in it because olive oil has low smoking point which will spoil the coating of the pan. Also do not use any metal stirrers in the pan because this will scratch up the surface of the pan and spoil it. When washing your non-stick pan, please use sponge - not those wired ones. Chicken batter ingredients

370g of chicken thigh meat
1/4 cup of water
1 egg white
2 tablespoons of Chinese rice wine
0.5 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
3 tablespoons of cornflour
A few dashes of white pepper
Coat marinated chicken with cornflour
Creamy butter sauce ingredients

30g of butter
1 egg yolk
5 cloves of chopped garlic
A small bunch of curry leaves
1 chopped bird's eye chilli - optional
3/4 cup of evaporated milk
0.5 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt

We made watermelon "Bekomochi." "Bekomochi" is eaten for Children's Day Festival in the Tohoku region, and is a home-made sweet. Being from Nagano Prefecture, the simple taste of this sweet reminded Moso-mom, of Dondo-Yaki.
You may ask "why watermelon?": it's just because we wanted to make it! This is the start of the annual Mosogourmet Watermelon Series 2017! The black sesame that look like the watermelon seeds go well with the simple mochi.
*Recipe* (for one palm-sized watermelon)
1. Mix dango powder (mochiko or sweet rice flour) and 45g of white sugar.
2. Mix in 55g of hot water.
3. Knead the dough by hand into one large ball.
4. Divide the dough into three parts of 80g, 60g, and 60g each. Cover with plastic wrap to prevent the dough drying out.
5. With food coloring, color the 80g dough red, and one of the 60g dough green.
6. Make the red dough into a ball
7. Spread out into a circle the white dough, and wrap over 6.
8. Spread out into a circle the green dough, and wrap over 7.
9. Divide into 8 parts.
10. Put the sesame seeds on. To make them stick easier, wet the surface slightly with a bamboo skewer first.
11. Color some water into a dark green with food coloring, and draw the lines of the watermelon with a brush.
12. Steam for about 15 minutes.
13. Done. Eat while it's freshly steamed!
We used a jell-type food coloring. We used two drops with a toothpick for red, and one drop for green. To keep the thickness of the dough even, it helps to decide on a center point, and wrap around that point. After making, it came to mind that if the thickness becomes uneven, you can remove a bit of dough from the thick part, spread it out with the rolling pin and add onto the part where the dough is thin.
When you cut it, it comes out beautifully if you try to cut it so that the parts where the thickness is even show. You can also draw the lines, dry it properly, and then cut it.
スイカの“べこもち”作りました。“べこもち”は、端午の節句に東北地方で食べられるお菓子だそうで、家庭で作るお菓子なんだとか。素朴な味わいで、長野県うまれの妄想グルメ母もどんど焼きを思い出して、なんだか懐かしい気持ちになりました。それで、なんでスイカなの?といえばやってみたかったからさッ。妄想グルメの恒例のスイカシリーズ2017開幕です。種に見立てた黒ごまがシンプルなお餅にとっても合いましたよ。
*レシピ*(手のひらサイズのスイカ 1個分)
1.だんご粉 110gと上白糖 45gを混ぜ合わせる。
2.熱湯 55gを入れ、混ぜる。
3.手でこね、ひとまとめにする。
4.80g、60g、60gに分ける。乾燥しないよう こまめにラップをかけておく。
5.80gを赤、60gの1つを緑に食用色素で着色する。
6.赤を丸める。
7.白を丸く伸ばし6を包む。
8.緑を丸く伸ばし7を包む。
9.8等分に切り分ける。
10.黒ゴマの種をつける。竹串にちょこっと水を付けてからゴマを取るとやりやすい。
11.緑の食用色素を濃い目に水で溶き、筆でスイカの線を描く。
12.15分ほど蒸す。
13.できあがり。蒸したての柔らかいうちに召し上がれ!
食用着色料はジェルのものを使いました。赤は楊枝で2回、緑は1回で着色しています。
位置を決め、そこを中心にして包むようにすると生地の厚みが同じ調子に仕上がると思います。生地が重なりすぎた時には、厚い部分を取り除き、麺棒で伸ばしてから生地のない部分に継ぎ足す、というやり方がよいなと作って思いました。
切り分ける時は厚みが同じ調子の部分が出るように切るとキレイにできます。
スイカの線を描き、しっかり乾燥させてから切り分けてもよいです。
造形が簡単な“べこもち”。色んなのものを作ってみたくなりました。
